The NMC maintains parallel visibility of Service Providers networks'. NgREN also has a clear visibility of all its devices in the core and at the edges and utilises WhatsUp Gold version 16 Network Monitoring Software along with PRTG for 24/7 network monitoring. NgREN desk officers use these tools to routinely monitor network health and troubleshoot links that are down or faltering. The data generated by these tools is used to compute indicators of link quality which are summarised on a monthly basis and shared with our service providers for the purpose of sustaining Quality of Service and enforcing Service Level Agreements.
