ES, NUC Delivers a Goodwill Message at the National Summit on Open Access Book Publishing
The Executive Secretary, National Universities Commission, Professor Abdullahi Yusufu Ribadu, joined stakeholders at the National Summit on Open Access Book Publishing in Abuja, where he delivered a goodwill message at the opening session.
The two-day summit, hosted by the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) on 6-7 October 2025, brings together authors, editors, librarians, funders, and policymakers to develop a national framework for Open Access (OA) book publishing in Nigeria.
With the theme “From Pilots to Policy: Advancing a National Framework for Open Access Books in Nigeria,” the event explores how BookHub and TETFund-supported Academic Publishing Centres can strengthen digital publishing infrastructure and expand equitable access to scholarly knowledge.
